Seriously great food and plenty of it.

Love this place always great service family like feeling fish is fresh and rarely have to wait long for a table my only complaint is I think it would be great if they could spruce up the place a bit.

The food was just incredible! Service was awesome! Freshest sashimi I’ve ever had! New favorite sushi place, definately I’ll go back! :)

Otai's place is amazing. By far the freshest food available. We drive 40 mins and it's worth it every time. Can't say enough about the staff, atmosphere, cooks and chef Otai. A must if you're in or near the Madison area. A must even if you're not in the area.

I don't know why they had such good reviews. I had high expectations after reading the reviews. However, it is not even close. The food tastes like made by a new learner that just mixes everything. The meat/fish is not fresh. Service is not that good either. Even all that prepared to spend at least $35 each person for dinner.

My family and I have been going here for years. Every single time it’s 5-star food. The atmosphere needs a little updating, it feels like a diner, but you go here for the amazing sushi chef in lowkey digs. The service is always great too. It’s family run, support this place!

Delicious. Very reasonable lunch menu prices. Easy to park. Just across to Madison train station. You can grab some quick lunch while you wait for your train.

Very good traditional style sushi and other Japanese cuisine. If you want something flashy or trendy this may not be for you but if you want quality food with good service, this is the place.

BYOB Japanese restaurant in downtown Madison, featuring sushi and standard fare as well as excellent sushi burritos. I highly recommend the sukiyaki.

Please don't let this review make or break your decision. It was my first time going and I went with high expectations based on the recommendation of someone I know. Nothing I had here was sub-par but nothing, except the service, really shined either. I will definitely go back and hopefully have a more flattering review next time.

Very cookie-cutter. Nothing special, or top shelf. I'm an avid sushi eater-several times a week. Based on the reviews, I was excited to come here. They did not meet any of my expectations. The sushi is run-of-the-mill, the ramen was bland, the inside along with the dishware is outdated, and it is dinge and homely. I did not receive a refill on my water. The servers and hostess were all very friendly, so they made the experience more enjoyable and that's why I gave it a 3 instead of a 2. Bottom line- If you know what quail egg shooters are, know the difference between tobiko and masago, or expect a modern/flashy environment (like for a first date) or expect sushi as good as the overall review, this is not your place. Although these things are not needed for a good time or a great meal, and while I have been to many hole-in-the-wall places that had some of the best food I've ever had- this place falls short. It will miss the mark for you if you have had good sushi before.

I go to this restaurant while in Madison, I like the sukiyaki, chirashi, curry lunch, and they make great homestyle miso soup. I enjoy everything that I have ordered from the menu, good service by their staff!

There is no better sushi/sashimi in New Jersey. Food arrived quickly and the presentation was very pleasing. Cooked food is tops too. Friendly and eager staff are professional and do whatever it takes to please their clients.

Having worked here for a short while I can say that the sushi is top notch. I love all the appetizers that are offered too, as they are very traditional. The owners are Japanese and are committed to serving in a manner very similar to that which Japan has to offer. Highly recommended.

Great restaurant. The Sushi was amazing. I had the Chow Roll and the Madison Sweetheart Roll and they were both excellent. The decor was amazing and the service was great. Overall this was a very good restaurant.

Staff is super nice , we did see some Japanese group eating here but we did not think was that good to be honest.

My mom and I go here almost weekly. They have great vegan options and don't use egg in the tempura.

I had an extraordinary experience at this place. We enjoyed the amazing vibes and the menu. The waiters were super amiable. I am glad we finally managed to visit here.

This restaurant is owned by Japanese chef. It means that we could have "real" and "genuine" Japanese cuisine.

Quiet spot across from the train station. Service was good, Miso soup was average but worth getting. Sushi was above expectations. The pan fried udon with chicken and vegetables was excellent. Only issue was the gyoza only came 5 pieces for 2 people. Should have been three each.
